Paris is the debut single by Melbourne five-piece Foreign/National. Like a lot of what we’ve been hearing from the recent influx of Australian indie acts like The Zolas, Tame Impala, Snakadaktal and The Holidays, Paris is a charming and very catchy slice of indie-pop that’s carefully put together with a brilliant end result.
Check out Disclosure’s 30 minute headline set at this years Pitchfork Music Festival, at Grande Halle De La Villette Paris. The electronic-heavy festival also featured the likes of DARKSIDE, Hot Chip, The Knife and Panda Bear.
Summer Ends is the excellent new track by Aqua Roja, a very exciting new group from Paris, France. While the song is built around some really surfy guitars and infectious choruses, the main focus is on the impressive vocals of November, which remind me of Lizzy Plapinger (MS MR). Magic Man are a synth-rock outift from Providence, Rhode Island. They released Real life Color, a really wonderful album, about three years ago that unfortunately fell under the radar. Paris-based 18 year old Dream Koala recently made a few waves by playing the London Boiler Room with Flume, and he’s now dropped a new tune called ‘Ocean’. It’s a dreamy and melodic track with some really hypnotic vocal arrangements. Very promising stuff. Stream and download below.
FI/SHE/S are a Paris-based indie pop outfit with a really, really catchy new tune out called ‘A Drive To The Psychos’ that sounds like Grizzly Bear teamed up with Empire Of The Sun to create something really different. Everything bar the kitchen sink is in this one. Check it out.
