Grizzly Bear release their long-awaited new album Painted Ruins, the follow-up to 2012’s Shields, on August 18 via RCA Records.
Grizzly Bear have shared their new song Three Rings, the first offering from the band’s eagerly-awaited new album, which follows 2012’s Shields.
Grizzly Bear‘s tour in support of their most recent album, the wonderful Shields, came to an end last night at the Sydney Opera House. You can watch the show in its entirety above. The performance begins at the 0:09:20 mark.
Earlier this month, Grizzly Bear released Shields Expanded and the 12″ vinyl Shields B-Sides, two new editions of Shields containing a handful of previously unreleased outtakes and B-Sides. Diplo just remixed one of those tracks, Will Calls, and gave it a little extra juice. Stream the remix below, and download it here.
Listen and Wait is a bonus track taken from Grizzly Bear’s forthcoming Shields: Expanded album, which is due on November 8 via Warp Records.
On November 12, Grizzly Bear will release Shields Expanded and Shields B-Sides on Warp Records. Listen to a gorgeous demo from B-Sides and Expanded below called Will Calls. The album will also feature Nicolas Jaar‘s beautiful remix of Sleeping Ute, as well as remixes by Liars and Lindstrøm. I’m looking forward to it.
Yesterday, as part of the annual Record Store Day celebration, Nicolas Jaar dropped a new 12″ remixing Grizzly Bear’s Sleeping Ute and Brian Eno’s Lux. Jaar takes Sleeping Ute and slows it down with a smooth yet haunting bass line and deep minimal drum beats, stretching it to almost eight minutes. Magic.
